Bench Buddy

Thank you to Joyce Denver for giving the school a bench that belonged to her Grandmother. She lovingly restored it and now the children love to sit under the tree for a rest and a chat. It's now the Bench Buddy for the junior end of the school.

We also have purchased another Buddy Bench for the pupils in the senior end of the school.

Green Flag Assessment

Congratulations to Ms O Mahony and the Green Schools Committee. Edwina from an Taisce came to assess the work that the committee have been doing over the past two years. The theme is litter and waste and Gobal Citzenship. The students under the creative direction of Ms O Mahony have gathered burst footballs for an art project, picked up litter religiously, taken part in the National Clean Up , held a recycling quiz, planted seeds and will start to develop  a school garden.

Edwina was very impressed with the pupils' knowledge on waste issues and was delighted to meet with the committee.

Well done to you all and a big thank you to Ms O Mahony for all her hard work.

Catholic Schools Week 2017

The pupils in Ms O Mahony's and Ms Markham's  classes made St Bridget's Day crosses. The older pupils were a great help to the younger ones.  Thank you to the teachers for sourcing the reeds . Thanks to Mrs kennedy's dad who supplied more reeds for us to use.

The pupils of Balrothery NS have been taking the time this week to celebrate where we live and to give thanks for the beauty all around us. They have learned how important it is to care for our Earth.

More photos can be seen on Ms Markham's and Ms O Mahony's home page.
