Health and Well Being

Mr Callaghan is leading the marathon programme in school for 5th and 6th class. Children run 1km a day for 42 days. They are really enjoying it and some days children choose to run for longer. The school had a visit from Frank Greally, editor of the Irish Runner magazine who ran with the children and spoke to the children afterwards. Frank represented Ireland in his younger days, gave up running for many years but has returned to running at the age of 65. You are never too old! Frank was accompanied by Felim O Neill also a renowned runner. Both men advocated the benefits of running. Frank spoke about gratitude and encouraged the children to show gratitude each day.

It was an inspirational afternoon.talk
