On the 3 February, our school, Balrothery National School, held a grandparents day. We invited all the grandparents to come to our school to talk about their past. The day began with a ceremony mass, where children read prayers and the choir and Ms. McCrudden sang songs. The grandparents were then shown to their grandchildren’s classes by Ms. O’ Mahonys class.
In the different classrooms they talked about their favourite games, adventures, old memories, family traditions and lots more. By the look on their faces, the grandparents seemed to really enjoy telling old stories and reliving the past. Even a few songs were sung. Some grandparents got the chance to use the interactive whiteboards which they seemed really impressed with. I do think all of the kids enjoyed the stories too which made the whole experience even better. After the grandparents visited their grandchildren’s classes they were served tea, coffee, sandwiches and biscuits. It was a very interesting day for everyone and we should thank Mr. Keary, all our teachers and the Parent’s Committee for organizing it all. It was a very successful day!
It has a slidegallery !!!!
