Bug Hotels Community Project
7th Apr 2025
Ms. Andrews' 3rd Class were busy creating bug hotels that are now proudly placed near the community centre. The children gathered all the natural materials needed, including twigs, leaves, bark, and cones, carefully selecting the best pieces for the insects. They enjoyed working with Margaret from Balrothery Tidy Villages who shared lots of insightful information. It was a great learning project for the children demonstrating teamwork and problem-solving skills by collaborating to arrange the materials correctly in the bug hotel to create suitable habitats for insects.
The children got an opportunity to reflect on the role of bugs in the environment and how creating bug hotels can support biodiversity and promote sustainability in their local community.
