Sport Against Racism
23rd Oct 2023
The pupils in Balrothery NS in conjunction with our Yellow Flag Committee highlighted the importance of making everyone in our school feel included.
Sport Against Racism supported us with this with a workshop that was fun but also had a very clear message, that sometimes we need to stand up to racism and sometimes we need to really think before we speak. Our words have the power to make a person feel good about themselves. Our actions speak louder than our words. We had great fun engaging in games to highlight this.
We followed this up with a whole school assembly on Friday. We all wore red to show we are against racism. The story of the Good Samaritan was told to highlight that we should never judge a book by its cover.
