Traveller Pride Week
18th Oct 2021
24/09/21
This week was Traveller Pride Week. As part of the yellow flag, we decided to find ways we could make a traveller child feel welcome in our class. We watched a video from Kathleen Murphy, who is a teacher, who talked all about traveller culture. She was also talking about penny flowers, which are flowers made from paper, and how traveller women used to make these flowers and sell them for a penny each. We made some of our own penny flowers, which we found difficult but fun to make!
